Merry Christmas and Encouragement

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!

So the holidays are upon us and we are all destined to enjoy them and do damage (eating) to the work we have done. Please do not become discouraged; just resolve yourself to work off whatever damage has been done!

I originally set a goal to get to 300lbs by March 31, 2012; I made it to 300lbs in April 2012. From there I fluctuated between 300lbs-310lbs until mid June 2012. Between June 2012 and September 2012, my weight increased to 326lbs. I did not become discouraged throughout any of this because I knew I reverted back to some of my old eating habits. I could work my way out of the 320's. Right before Thanksgiving, I got sick and lost 8lbs in three days. This put me under the 320's and sparked me to reform my eating habits and work harder.

I resolved myself to stay away from fast food for the remainder of the year and to back at 300lbs by the end of the year. I set a goal of burning a minimum of 1,750 calories (1/2 a pound) a day. As of this morning, I weigh 301lbs and believe me I have been putting in the work. Yesterday (I began the day weighing 304lbs)  alone, I walked 11 miles in the morning and completed 80 minutes on my elliptical (at the highest incline and highest resistance) last night. I will utilize my elliptical again tonight!

My blood sugar readings have been great, especially when I workout prior to going to bed; my blood pressure medication has been reduced by 50% and none of my clothes fit properly.

All I can say to anyone is to continue to persevere, try not to get down when you experience setbacks, and know that you are not alone in your fight to lose weight!
