2013 First Quarter Statistics

I mentioned in my post from New Year's Day, that I had challenged myself to burn a minimum of 1,750 calories a day as well as completing 6 miles a day through my workouts.

Well, it is time to see how I measured up during the first quarter of the 2013.

January Goals: 54,250 calories and 186 miles
January Totals: 51,271 calories and 201 miles

February Goals: 40,000 calories and 168 miles
February Totals: 49,092 calories and 170.9 miles

March Goals: 54,250 calories and 186 miles
March Totals: 62,652 calories and 340.3 miles

First Quarter Goals: 157,500 calories and 540 miles
First Quarter Totals: 163,015 calories and 712.2 miles

My weight goal was to be at 280 lbs by March 31, 2013. I made it down to 276 lbs by March 11, 2013! That represents a total weight loss of 110 lbs! Now I did go back up in weight (twice) and worked my way back down (twice). On March 31, 2013, I weighed 280 lbs. I either achieved or surpassed my goal three times in the same month.

I began the second quarter (April-June) April 1, 2013, weighing 283lbs (a result of celebrating Easter). However, I walked 22 miles (for the second time) and burned 3,428 calories that day and as a result of the work put in, I began today (April 2, 2013) weighing 278 lbs.

Again, my motivation for all of this hard work is to come off of all of my medication (high blood pressure, diabetic and high cholesterol) sometime this year. I firmly believe that if I can do it, anyone can do it. All it takes is taking that first step as well as keeping your eye on the prize, no matter the obstacle, plateau, or setback!
